This baby ragdoll was inspired by an old puppet sketch from the 1970s.  The big eyes and silly wide grin are popular with small children. There are no attachments or loose parts, so it’s safe for the little ones. Includes T-shirt in-the-hoop pattern and sewn-in panty. Comes with 2 faces – one with eyelashes and one without. PDF Instructions with color photos also included. (no video tutorial)

ITH Design Details

ITH stands for “In the Hoop” and refers to embroidery machine files that stitch a 3D project like this one.

  • .ZIP file Includes these machine embroidery file formats: DST, EXP, HUS, JEF, PES, SEW, VIP, VP3, XXX
  • Number of Hoopings: 3 hoopings for 6×10″ (150x240mm) hoops, and 4 hoopings if using a 5×7″(130x180mm) designs.
  • This design comes in one finished size which is 13” tall.

Tools and Materials Needed

 Tools
• Embroidery machine with 5×7 hoop or larger
• Sharp fabric scissors
• Hemostats for turning and stuffing the doll
• Long doll needle and strong thread for closing the seam openings
• Pins to hold the stabilizer firmly in the hoop (the T-pin trick)

Materials
• Doll skin fabric

  1. For limbs: 2 pieces – 8” x 6”
  2. For body/head: 2 pieces – 8” x 8”
  3. Panty/diaper fabric: 2 pieces – 6” wide x 5” tall

• Top and bobbin thread to coordinate with your doll project (white, black and red/pink for face)
• Fiberfill stuffing
• No-show mesh embroidery stabilizer, or similar lightweight cutaway stabilizer
• Scrap of water or heat soluble stabilizer to use under the face detail stitches
• Fusible stabilizer for thin or stretchy panty fabric
