NOTE: These dolls are designed as ART dolls for holiday home decor, not play dolls for small children. Please do not insert wire armatures into dolls intended for small children.
Tools and Materials Needed
Tools
- Embroidery machine
- Embroidery Thread and bobbin
- Sharp fabric scissors
- (optional) Hemostats may help with turning and stuffing
- (optional) needle nose pliers and wire cutter for armature
Materials
- Fabrics
- For body–front & back pieces for both pants and shirt, sized to your hoop choice, stretch knits are recommended.
- For head and ears – front & back sized to your hoop choice, stretch knits are recommended
- For wig – small amount of faux fur about 3″x6″
- Recommended Embroidery stabilizers: no-show mesh stabilizer for the body, medium cut-away for front of the head, tear-away or soluble stabilizer for ears and wig. (optional) water or heat-soluble film is suggested under facial features.
- Fiberfill or other stuffing of choice.
- (optional) 1/16″ and 1/8″ armature wire
- Hand sewing needle and strong thread for closing the head & body, or fabric glue
