Thread Storage Ideas

Updated: Apr 25

Embroidery Thread Storage can be tricky because we have LOTS of spools and cones for our embroidery machines. I’ll show you tons of ideas for storing your threads safely. Lots of ideas from my studio as well as thread storage ideas from the internet. Plus how to tidy up those thread tails.

Watch the YouTube video below to get inspired on your Thread Storage Adventure.

Video Chapters:

  1. 00:00 Assess your Thread Collection

  2. 03:52 Don’t Jumble

  3. 04:16 Thread Racks

  4. 06:19 Thread Drawers

  5. 09:04 Pegboards for Threads

  6. 11:18 Bobbin Storage

  7. 13:25 Tidy Thread Tails

  8. 17:17 Wrap it Up!

Threads that are not used very often OR threads like cotton that need protection from sunlight work well in drawers. The video shows several ways to store in drawers, either standing upright, or laying down. But don’t jumble your threads because they can get damaged.

That’s a Thread Valet in the photo below. I’ve been using it since it came out a couple of years ago and it still looks great.

Use my coupon code iLuvLuci for 10% off your thread valet – and it’s an affiliate link so they pay me a bounty for bringing in new customers. (ʘ ͜ʖ ʘ)
